WHY WE DON'T DO ALLOGRAFT DERMAL MATRIX GRAFTS (ADMG'S)
May 20, 2007
Alloderm matrix grafts consist of foreign tissue removed from
bodies of dead people (corpses) who sometimes are found in morgues
and who died from sometimes unknown or unspecified causes. Many
people object to the idea of inserting tissue from dead bodies
into healthy, living patients. When foreign tissue from the body
is put into another human body, sometimes the foreign tissue
is rejected and the operation fails.
ADMG’s-MAY CARRY HARMFUL VIRUSES OR BACTERIA
Alloderm donor tissue is “sterilized” by the supplier,
but no guarantee of sterility is given and the possibility exists
that some dormant disease-causing viruses or bacteria are transplanted
along with the graft. So far as we know this has not yet been
reported but there is no guarantee that it will not happen and
the possibility is always there.
ADMG’s-NOT RECOMMENDED BY THE SUPPLIER FOR PENIS USE
The supplier of Alloderm Matrix Grafts does not recommend the
use of his alloderm for penis enlargement and its use for this
purpose is strictly “off label.”
ADMG SURGERY TAKES HOURS LONGER THAN FAT TRANSFER
The alloderm operation takes hours longer
than when using the patient’s own fat. Longer operations
are associated in general with more complications.
ADMG SURGERY COSTS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS MORE
The alloderm operation costs thousands of dollars more than
using the patient’s own fat. To justify the cost, the patient
is sometimes told. “It’s worth it.” We disagree.
Alloderm surgery is strictly limited as to the girth/thickness
that can be achieved. With LFT the achievable girth is limited
only by the amount of donor fat available from the patient himself.
ADMG DOES NOT PERMIT SCULPTING OR MOLDING
With LFT the shaft can be made to fit the head, no matter how
small the head is. This gives an entirely natural believable
appearance. There is no need for another operation to enlarge
the head.
